Prof. Zhu Qiuyuan was as a visting professor at the Department of Customs and Excise

From November 2015 to April 2016 Prof. Dr. Zhu Qiuyuan from Shanghai Customs College was a visiting professor at the Department of Customs and Excise of Münster University. Her research focused on the new Customs regulations of the European Union. She particularly studied the background of the Unions Customs Code and translated some of its outstanding new regulations into Chinese. Her research stay at the Department of Customs and Excise will culminate in her book on “EU Customs Law” which will be published in Chinese in the autumn of 2016.

In addition to the lectures she gave to students of “European Customs Law” at Münster University, Prof. Zhu also gave a lecture on “Economic Integration and the Role of Public Administrations” at Harz University of Applied Sciences. Here she spoke, among other things, about the role played by China in the globalized world thereby opening the listeners to another perspective on such an interesting topic.

Prof. Zhu wound up her research stay with a visit to the European Commission and the World Customs Organization in Brussels. She travelled with Prof. Dr. Hans-Michael Wolffgang.

From a cultural point of view, Prof. Zhu's stay in the university and bicycle city of Muenster was a wonderful experience. She went back to China not only armed with extensive knowledge of the European Customs law but also with many new and interesting impressions about life in Germany.
